The Repair Command is SDT 6.0 allows pack to take place and restores the reccount to the correct number of records.

That makes sense. Reindex() expects that the table header is good but the indexes aren't. If the header isn't good, it can't do its job properly. That's why Repair() is there. Since Repair() also calls Reindex(), you might consider calling it rather than Reindex() given the problems you've been having lately.
