Ok, well, now we've established _how_ they differ. The question remaining is why? I've never seen ADIR() return a completely different name than what is actually on the disk. Honestly, if it did that, it would be a useless function. So it seems like there might be something else going on. Would it be possible for you to post a bit of the code where you retrive the files from the disk? Also, if you haven't already, confirm that the contents of the array created by ADIR() are different than what's in the directory in Explorer immediately after you call it. That will rule out any later code changing the values.
