Grizzly is the name for the ski course for the men's downhill at Snow Basin, about 33 miles from Salt Lake. It is considered one of the most technically difficult in the world. It includes a 74 degree grade near the top and drops an average of 29 percent from top to bottom.

The Delta Center, home of the Utah Jazz, has been renamed the "Salt Lake Ice Center" because the Olypmics don't allow company names on the venues. Located in downtown SLC, it will host figure skating and short track speed skating. It is one block southwest of the Medals Plaza.

The "E-Center" (short for West Valley City Event Center) is the home of the Utah Grizzlies, our minor league hockey team. This arena was built specifically for hockey and should have great sitelines for the hockey events.

The Olympic Oval is suburban SLC will host speed skating. It is considered the fastest ice on earth. In the one year since the arena has been used, 5 world records have been set. Many athletes and reporters feel that a world record could be set in all speed skating events there.

Moguls events will be a Deer Valley (just outside Park City). In past Olympics, the moguls have been machine made. This made them even and easier to ski. Not so this year. The moguls are made by hand and not evenly spaced. This should make the competition more exciting.

Solier Hollow, home of biathalon and cross crountry skiing is at an altitude just 15 feet short of the maximum allowed under Olympic rules. It's a unique course that will allow spectators to see the athletes at all times.
