Hi Christina,

Do yourself a favor and buy the Visual FoxPro Certification Exam Guide from Hentzenwerke. This is a great study guide as well as a 1000-ft view of VFP itself. This is a good study guide.

As to the exams themselves, the passing level is designed to match what's called "the Minimally Qualified Candidate". This is someone you would hire to fill an average VFP position. There is no set number of years of experience tested.

As to a question of yours further in the thread, no, it's not a good idea to study using any study aids for the VFP3 test. MS completely changed their tests and psychometrics between the 3 and 6 tests.

I was an author for both the VFP6 Desktop and Distributed exams and I can tell you that we worked very hard to make the tests fair. A good, well-rounded knowledge of VFP is required to pass; expert VFP knowledge is not.

Perhaps your best bet is to buy and read the book from Hentzenwerke, then spend the $100 and take one of the tests. At worst, you'll fail but get a feel for the tests and be better prepared to take them again.

Good luck, and try not to let the tests intimidate you too much before you've even taken them. :-)

>Thank you for your reply in this - Although I was hoping the news would be different. I do have the Study Guide, and it is helpful. I do wish there was more study material out there for the FoxPro exam. It seems that for most of the other big software packages, there's a ton of reference material and sample tests - but for FoxPro, well, there's just not much. There are books, yes, but there isn't much material geared specifically to what the exam covers.
