Probably for the same reasons why apps are written in C++. Which gets to the heart of my point.... advocating that people should adopt C# as their primary language for DB application development has the same merit as somebody telling folks that C++ is more appropriate than VB or VFP...

The bottom line, both have a place and to imply a per se rule that folks should adopt a specific language is nonsense...
