The product or solution you talk of here is Ghostscript. a GNU program which can read and write out PS and PDF documents.
you can configure it to read a .ps file (easy enough to create ps files.)
and then you conver them to pdf files with something called ps2pdf which is actually a batch file, sending in the name of the ps file and some command line options Ghostscripts converts it to a pdf.
here is a web version if you want to try it out.
http://etd.vt.edu/howto/ps2pdf/web_form.htmlMy trouble with using this 'free' solution is its not that easy to get all the pieces working together,... and just the thought of having to write a vfp install which installs ghostscript, and so on... gave me a headach.
You might try looking arround on
www.pdfzone.com for alt soltuions to your pdf needs.. or if you have newsgroup access there is a good newsgroup which tackles this subject called comp.text.pdf

In the beginning, there was a command prompt, and all was well.
