Someone gave me a fixed length file to import into a foxpro table.

To format nicely for import, I load it into excel first, define columns, then export it from excel as a csv (comma delimited.)

The problem is the date fields are in the original file in the format of mmm dd yyyy hh:ssAM/PM -- and I can't get excel to recognize that as a date. I need to export it as m/d/yy, I would be happy if I could create a new column to have the date in the proper syntax, but thus far, no happiness.

Anyone have any good ideas? Thanks!
