It is only a waste of time if you stop to read the thread and find it not valuable or of no interest whatsoever and ALSO IF you would have spent your time on another task had you NOT stopped to read the thread.
How much time would you have saved if you had not taken the time to post this message in this thread (which is really of no technical merit whatsoever)? Also, you have the right to post your messages just as much as I do this reply (and those who are contributing to any other threads have the same right regardless of their perceived value).
Since the value of each message and every thread is really subjective, does it really matter?
