SELECT * FROM data\Employee.dbf INTO CURSOR temp NOFILTER

Multiply that time by .7 ( 70% records you extract with your query). That should give you an estimate of the min time your query could take.

Cool. Yeah, that's also kind of the bad news; it's really not going to run much faster. I think I'm going to have to revamp how I handle the data when the form intializes.
