Thanks, Marcia. What actually I found was that I had setup a local view with the same name as an existing dbf file. I am doing some local development and planning to migrate to SQL server upon delivery, so it seemed logical to setup my local views with identical names to the table dumps I had taken from the server. However, the combination of forms & controls performing select statements upon these views created very erratic behavior, to the point that I could simply "modi database," double-click on the view, and receive various errors.
Therefore, I removed all views with duplicate names and created new ones with slightly different names from the table and everything works beautifully....one for the books, I guess. I thought that the dbc would be searched before any local tables....I didn't know that could be a problem.
