A client just asked me if it would be difficult to incorporate some form of
instant messaging into our database app.

I thought to myself, well ... sure some form of message database where users centrally post message records, and this is checked for any new messages per user... However, this is a pollling type process and a lot of users would end up polling this database table creating undue network traffic.

Does anyone have a suggestion as to what to use to allow workstations to listen for messages that are sent directly to them.

Is there an activex control and dll or something that anyone on the UT might recommend?
