Thank you for answering a General Field problem for me some time ago. But I have another problem, now that I have started to use it. I find that even if I use the LINK option when appending in a link to an image it still seems to be filling up my fpt file. This file is 32MB after inserting only 10 images. the syntax I am using is:

APPEND GENERAL genfieldname FROM \MYPICS\PICTURE.JPG LINK

PICTURE.JPG IS 1mb but my fpt increases by 8mb. I expected that it would only store the address of the link rather than the pic itself. And I still have the problem that Paint Shop Pro still flicks up as I append or as I run the app.
