Then Craig, in your personal experience, what level of access/priviledge do you use when setting up a "special" user account to use for the COM+ component? Thus far, I can't get the component to work w/o having local admin access to the computer the component is running on.
My sysadmin is having a hard time granting my component even local admin access and wants me to find out why it won't work w/o it. FYI, only thing I could think of so far is that since my COM+ component uses transactions that it requires access to MSDTC services. Otherwise, it just connects to MSSQL Server that also reside on the same server to insert/update/delete data using a valid MSSQL user account.
The worst thing is I can't find any reference anywhere on this particular subject.
>Yup, that's the way I would do it. Under no circumstances would I leave the component running under an Administrator account.
It's "my" world. You're just living in it.
