I'm not sure I understand your problem, but I've noticed a FEATURE in vfp 5.0 that works like this.
You change some values on a screen like visible or value.
You go into a loop are heavy data procesing.
Screen does not get updated.
I have added a wait timeout .01 just after thisform refresh or just before heavy code.
Seems to allow fox the time to update the screen.
