Title:
Proxy server required??
Greetings all
I have a XP pro machine with VS.Net installed. I am trying to build my first .Net application ( Web Service ). When I try to make a web reference to my web service, VS informs me that I must use a proxy server, since I am behind a firewall.
My config is:
3 XP machines connected to a Linksys DSL Router, then to the internet. I have not setup a proxy server, per se, and don't see anywhere on the router config where this is possible. I know where to go in Windows Internet Options to set the proxy and port, but don't have a clue as to what it wants there. I gave it the router's address, but that doesn't work.
What's up, and why does VS.Net care about a proxy server?
Any help would be so appreciated.
