I did. I created a form on my Win2K Server machine, on which I am a local admin, and ran the following code in a Click method:

WAIT WINDOW TRANSFORM(STRTOFILE(ThisForm.text1.value, "c:\temp\testval"))

Every time it ran, I got the MaxLength of the control returned as the number of bytes written -- I didn't get the 0 return you were reporting. Any other ideas on how to duplicate it?
