Have you run the Server Network Utility to ensure that TCP/IP is running on the server?

Are you using the standard TCP/IP port on the server, 1433, if not you will have to set up the clients to use the correct port.

Is the server set to be hidden? If so, you will not be able to list the server when browsing in QA or EM.
