The radio shows have ripped ice skating in general because of the pairs skating. Topics included in these discussions have been that many, me included, don't call it a sport unless it involves a finish line, best time, goal scoring, etc. In general, if you need a judge to determine the winner, it ain't a sport and is on par with a dog show. So throw out all the sissy stuff like ice dancing, singles and pairs skating, etc. Bring back speed skiing! That was a demo sport about 8 years ago but was not picked up.

We hate the NBC coverage where all the good stuff [hockey] has been shifted to [p]MS-NBC. The rest is either tape delayed or heavily edited. The traffic reports last weekend also sucked. Who cares!!!!!!

The only thing saving NBC is the scoring scandal which has probably boosted the interest in those social events.

The scenery I have scene is beautiful. Winter there has been very generous with the snow from what I can see. The speed skating venues have been awesome as have been the skiing ones.
