I don't think so, at each run they will only be using one particular combination of objects and one layout so just one letter.

I think that's probably beyond me at the moment!

Like you I'm very happy in VF I just can't get my head around the sub merge. In WordPerfect you have the option to merge from a different data file then continue with the original merge. I wonder... is it possible to run a mailmerge but leave merge codes in it, then use that result as a merge main document......?

I think I'll have to look into that - thanks for all your help so far, any other thoughts would be gratefully received.
