Hi Renoir,
Thanks for all the book recommendations that I received.
Going into the C# issue, I have no problem with VB, but I decided on C# for several reasons:
- It's Microsoft's new baby, so they are likely to REALLY push it, which helps me with credibility issues, something that's a trauma shared by most vfp developers. ;-)
- Unlike VB, it's new, so there are absolutely no compromises that MS has had to do in order to keep compatibility with anything else (to some degree, I *FEEL*, and this is ONLY MY OPINION, that this has been the case with vb).
- I used to program in C and the syntax looks familiar, so I think I will feel more at home with this tool. Kinda like how most Pascal programmers were drawn to delphi.
Other than this, I can't really think of any reason to use vb or c# over any other .net langage.
Regards,
Alex
>No book recommendations, but - at the risk of starting another C#/VB syntax war thread - why did you decide to go with C#? I'm on the fence right now and am trying to get some realistic insight into making my choice.
