Steve will talk on Complex Refactoring -- a new buzz term which isn't all that complex. Basically he makes sense of what happens in the process of optimizing a program. He stands some conventional wisdom on its ear, downplaying the role of painstaking pre-planning and provides some rational ideas on how and why mid-project design changes occur. And how their handling can make our programs more powerful and maintainable.
Rick's talk will be announced shortly. It will either be "Developer Tools" or "Installation and Deployment of Applications".
Think of our special meeting as a twilight double header (Chicago Fox vs Detroit <g>). If you can make twilight game come before 5:15 and stay as long as you can. If you want to come later, the second talk will begin some time after 6:30. If you want to socialize and network, we'll be treating our out-of-town guests at the Parthenon restaurant in Greek town around 9. Give us an RSVP.
Other business -- quick report on our collaborative, on-line project for the Kids With Heart network of families of kids with heart defects.
