You still have the problem of slow printing with dot-matrix printers. As an alternative to a complete redesign, and since you already have your reports, try:
REPORT FORM ... TO FILE ... ASCII Then send printer codes and the text-file to the printer with
???.
The main reason I didn't like this (and created my report class) is that it is difficult to allign data. Also, AFAIK, you can't include things like bold and italic.
You might also consider re-programming only a few reports: those where you need to print hundreds or thousands of pages every month.
