>Hummmm... is that really true? Perhaps for those people that already have been publishing articles it is, but how about those lots of excellent fellows (some of them not so well known, some completelly unknown) with fantastic knowledge that could start writing short usefull "HOWTOs" (like those found in MSDN), then articles, and start to get known in the editorial marketplace, isn't that a good opportunity?

I can tell you from experience that the hardest part of putting out a Fox magazine is getting people to actually do the writing. All of the Fox magazines are open to articles from people who've never been published before.

A few years back, I looked at the statistics for FoxPro Advisor, and at that time, something like half the articles we had printed were the first article in FPA for that writer, and that included counting the regular monthly columns.

When I was the editor, I'd guess that only about half of the article proposals I approved ever turned into articles. For the rest, the person never finished writing in order to submit the actual article.

So, the problem isn't places for people to publish, it's getting people to do the actual writing.
