It is more simple that that. We want to make it clear the software is ours in case someone copies it. Recently my boss (at my day job) asked me to give a demo of our software to a guy he new. I thought it was because he wanted to sell the software. So I gave the guy screen shots of much of the system. After my boss told me that the demo was basically to brag about how our product was better than his. I wish he would have told me this, because that would have totally changed the demo. Sigh.
