VB5 versus VFP5…
VB5 is now the best tool to develop ActiveX for the desktop and the Internet. I use VB5 as a glue when I a want to join different MS Product. You can now use VB5 to distribute VB Internet ActiveX component via IE. This opens the door to cool application on the Internet.
VFP5 is OOP and also a DBMS for PC platform. It makes VFP the best development tool for the desktop or LAN environment. If you want a fast Database on PC that is not Client Server, VFP is the only tool. With the view concept in VFP, It become the best development tool for Client Server Application.
Conclusion:
VB5 is the best tool for creating ActiveX module and the glue between all MS product.
VFP5 is the best development tool for Desktop, LAN and Client Server application and It is also a DBMS.
