I am working on an app that uses sound for feedback to the user. Using the
API call for the Beep I can produce a pleasant two toned sound indicating
a successful input, or an unpleasant sound. This worked great when I tested
it on my machine at the office. My home machine has *.wav files attached to certain
system events, and this swallows my beeps. Is there an API call to detect
if a sound card is present or if *.wav files have been selected for that default
'Beep' sound?

Thanks for any help.
