The app's files are NOT in the same directory, but they are in the path. I have many sudirectories for my apps, but it was never a problem before. I've deleted and recreated the foxuser file as well as ensured that all temporary foxpro files were deleted too.

Right click in a white-space in your project (Project Manager) and choose "Project Info" Check the "Debug Info" CheckBox (it should appear checked) in your "Project" Tab. Rebuild your project with Recompile All option.
(In addition delete your FXP files before recompiling)
