Hi, all...
Big VFP6 database app running on a Citrix Server (under NT 4.0). About 40-45 users running all day, (production data entry, heavy report generation using several historical files with sizes of 100 MB up to 500 MB).
Question is this...the server has about 4 GB on it. We use the SYS(3050) trick to limit users to about 60 MB of memory. Unfortunately, lately the server has been getting virtual memory error messages, and they've noticed that if a certain number of users heavily run reports at the same time, those users (and other users) get knocked out of the software and out of Citrix.
There are so many variables here, but my question is this. While I am somewhat fearful of dropping the SYS(3050) to go down to 40 MB, I am being asked by the network gurus to do so. Is that safe? My other question has been that I was under the 'general' impression that you could configure applications (even large database apps) to run under Citrix without figuring that 40 users times 60 MB means that you need 3 GB or more of memory.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Kevin
