FWIW, I've had two machines now where Web Services and ASP.NET did not work requiring a full uninstall and reinstall of the framework. In my case it appears to have to do something with a previous install not having full uninstalled, but still this is a HUGE PITA, especially if you're installing VS.NET which takes several hours on my laptop (slow HD).

THe sad part about this is that I posted some messages on teh NewsGroup and got some responses from MS personal (program managers no less) and nobody could figure out what exactly was causing this problem and why this happened in the first place since CLR installs are supposed to be pure for each version. That's scary when the developers don't know why a specific version conflict error fires...
