Agnes,
As a supplement to backups, I recommend using source-control / version control. Visual SourceSafe is one option; I currently use Perforce (
www.perforce.com), mainly because it is free for 1-2 developers (for larger groups, it costs about the same as VSS). However, there are also other freeware options.
