Interesting... Sun is shooting at the right targets this time!
Did you see the piece in /. about Sun claiming that Linux on the IBM mainframe was not as good as Solaris? A real laugher...
And.... another piece about Sun changing the license on Star Office 6.0 (which is now out of beta - the beta is no longer available) to a fee basis? A strange thing to do considering that OpenOffice.org is the GPL-LGPL version of the same thing and is free. I guess what Sun is doing is adding those little propriatary things (print drivers for specific printers, etc...) that OO can't add. Don't think that will be enough of an incentive, unless the drivers are for the exotic printers like the printer-scanner-fax combos, which may not have Linux drivers for a long time, if ever. SO 6.0 may be perfect for the SOHO, but it will have to offer a lot that OO doesn't to merit paying for it when you can get OO for free.
