>>>>>>>It was a hard fought game.. Congratulations to Canada for the gold.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>We should try to have a Canada - USA game more often. The trickiest part will be to find a way to motivate them to give us fantastic games like they did today. Congratulation to both teams.
>>>>>>
>>>>>>The best promotion for hockey in the history of this sport.

>>>>>A game between Montreal Canadiens and USSR 'all stars' on New Years Eve of the mid-seventies was without a doubt the BEST hockey game ever played on this planet, even to this day at 1917hr.
>>>>>Today's was indeed a great game of hockey. Maybe second best of all time.

>>>>Let me correct you. I did'nt say the best game I said the best promotion. How many persons saw that game compared to the USSR hockey game.
>>>
>>>
>>>OK, correection noted. And I thought after I sent that many who read it weren't alive (or very cogizant if living) at the time of that game.
>>>
>>>But I wanted to mention it specifically because it was the finest example ever of ""pure" (in my opinion) hockey, with amazing skating, crisp passing, lots of up/down the ice, great goaling and almost no puck-kicking/pushing/shoving along the boards (as is so much part of the game today).
>>>
>>>The game ended tied at 3-3 (I seem to remember) and everyone who saw it knew they had seen one unbelievable game of hockey.
>>
>>
>>Is'nt it that game that CBC replayed during that event on hockey? Excuse me I don't remember what was the event but I recall that there was an amateur hockey team trying to beat the world record for the longest game (guiness world record) as a part of that event. I saw a bit of the replay (if it's the game you're referring to) and it was really hockey at its finest.

>I don't know, Denis, but it sound like it could have been.
>I know that if I had heard of it being on at a certain date/time, I would have made sure I saw it. Sadly, I wasn't aware of it!@#@$!#@

>I have only seen it replayed once myself, some time in the early 1980s.'

I hope that they'll keep that game so that eventually we can buy it on tape or dvd.
