I dug into the menu file and determined that the edit menu name was "Edit". I changed this to the system edit name "_MSM_EDIT" and had all the menu bars point to this and IT WORKS under 7.0. I did this under 6.0 since I didn't want to lose the capability of opening the menu in 6 if this didn't work.

My code used a customized pad definition based on _msm_edit with just the bars I wanted included. Anyway, I found by accident that removing the Set Sysmenu to Automatic statement from the top of the code (which I don't even know what it was there...I think might have been generated in the MPR under vfp6)... removing that line solved the problem in vfp7.
