... and xcase opens the database, I assume.
Then you might close the database manually. Or, after getting the version, close the project before invoking xcase. Now, I am not what is the best way to close the project, but you can use
RELEASE WINDOW Project. In the Spanish version, I have to change this to
RELEASE WINDOW Administrador de proyectos.
