General question about opening LPT1: port, sending string.

Is anyone can point me where to look to write a very little program that will send string to the parallel port? I need to print a little bar code label.

I tried using normal printing (? and ??), but it does not work.

I tried the LLFF with FOPEN("LPT1:",2) and FWRITE. It works with my laptop under W2K SP2, but not under W98SE.

Does it exist a OCX like MSCOMM32 for parallel port?
Maybe the answer is to use the Windows API?
