Thanks for the reply. I found that almost immediately, but if you do set it to false then you have to take care of the logon and any other of the components like SQLDataSet. Getting control of the login and the other components kick my butt for a full day but I now have control (at least I think I do).

The next problem is creating an object that will control connections ETC. for hundreds of dbExpress components. At the moment I'm just setting the connection strings and then opening the component. This works but I think it would be best if I figured out some sort of global object to control the setting of connection strings and opening data components.
