Is there a way to eliminate the string of the path info from a table name?

Ex. If I use DBF() I receive the string 'X:\vfp98\tablename.dbf'
What could I use to end up with the string 'tablename.dbf' when tablename could be any number of unknown string lengths? Could I somehow seek up to the first occurance of "\" from the right?
