Well sports fans, I am still waiting before jumping into VFP 7.0. The fact that the product has anomalies does not surprise me. VFP 6.0 was not stable until SP3 was released. Microsoft should acknowledge bugs and give the community feedback.
You get the feeling the following resolutions apply:
1. Have faith my son, this too shall pass.
2. View the Steve Ballmer video to see what a great product VFP 7.0 is.
3. Buy another copy of VFP 7.0 to show you have faith in the product.
4. Talk to the wall – it listens!
As for myself I will continue to use VFP 6.0 with SP5 until I am satisfied VFP 7.0 is ready for prime time. I do not have time to waste dealing with problems that cannot be resolved. I wish everyone the best that uses VFP 7.0 and has problems. Working with a flawed tool is financially dangerous to clients and developers. Microsoft should be interested in more than sales.
Just wait until .NET begins to have bugs. After all it is version 1.0. But then again perhaps Microsoft has turned out a perfect product that is bug free. :)
