Sergey suggested encryption products.

And I wrote "client/server", not "SQL Server". There are at least three solutions that are free under certain circumstances: Microsoft MSDE (compatible with SQL Server; maximum 5 users recommended; maximum 2 GB), MySQL, and PreSQL or something. Sorry, I forgot the exact name of this last one.
