Wow, that's a bit drastic.
I would play around with this some more first.
Create an ASP page and call the object directly and see what happens. In fact you can use the ASP Web Service handler and put debug code in there. You can use the SOAPServer object and see what goes through it by writing out some of the response data to a file. See if it parses the request etc.
My guess is that this is some sort of permission issue.
This is what SUCKS about the whole COM stuff and ASP. Once something goes wrong trying to figure out what the heck is going on is next to impossible.
