Well DUH! I guess I was looking for something auto-magic and wound up making it harder than it needed to be. I've been jumping back and forth between re-writing a 2.6 app with MM and fixing a VPM app for one of our clients - a practice I would not recommend to anyone as prone to confusion as I am ;-}
