On second thought, the reason why we didn't do it like that is because the update and view buttons, when they appear in the list, represents the update mode of the entry and the view mode of the entry. What we have here is the view of the items of that entry. So, I prefer to not include the view button there and use the hyperlink instead on the folder name to get the messages within that folder to avoid any confusion.
