Hi
I have tried but I cannot write a 'CREATE SQL VIEW' statement that will update the underlying base tables.
I can (partially) do this through the view wizard but the only way I can get the result I want is with a host of sub views. I have tried matching every setting I can find in the Help on two identical views, one created with the view wizard and the other using the 'CREATE SQL VIEW' and 'DBSETPROP' commands but all to no avail.
If someone could kindly put up an example of how one can programatically create a view which updates the base table(s) I would wholeheartedly appreciative.
It seems to me patently absurd to have a view wizard that cannot create views allow one to connect to more than one table from a link table without having to create multiple views. If I programatically do it, I cant update the friggen thing.
Please help
