Hi Mark,

I guess one strong point with your approach is that SQL*Plus is almost always available at an Oracle installation. This really helps when you're working at a number of client sites who have Oracle.

>In all seriousness, I use EditPad or NotePad and put a SHOW ERROR command at the end of each of my SP code blocks. These are all SQL scripts that I then run under SQL*Plus. If an error happens, the SHOW ERROR will display the exact error, code line number and column. This is usually enough to get me pointed in the right direction to correct the problem.
