Hello,

2 questions regarding locks :

We have 4 different applications that run on the same DB (SQL Server 7) and sometimes (even a few times a week), we get the message "Timeout expired". After investigation, we find that a process blocks others.

Question 1:
How to identify the process that is responsible for blocking other processes ?

Question 2:
When a process is identified as "Blocking" does that mean that this is the source or is there other possibilities? (I am asking because our error handler returns "timeout expired" as an error for the process identified as the Blocking one )

TIA.
