I have filled it with over 30000 nodes. The performance hit I saw was when loading and then again when unloading the form. The loading is due to 1000s of nodes having to be created. The unloading is due to 1000s of nodes having to be destroyed.

I didn't see a performance hit during its use but that may be machine specific (P3/733, 265MB RAM, Win2K on test system).
