I have a client running an old 2.6 DOS application that has been running great for years on Novell 4.11. There are twelve WIN98 workstations connected to the Novell server.

A new WIN98SE workstation was added recently and when running their end of month on this computer, the program bombs out when accessing the stock file. The stock.dbf shows 40Mb through Windows explorer and from the DOT prompt you can USE the file, however the status line only shows 12,000 records (there are 40,000). As soon as you try to Browse the file an error "No Fields" is displayed and if you do a modi structure there are absolutely NO fields.

Copy a good backup stock file into the directory and the same thing happens.

The Netware client version on this WIN98 workstation is 3.3.

Does any have any idea what could cause this problem and how to fix it.
