>>>Well, Jim's advice aside ;-), I personally like Codebook. It has a lot going for it and I couldn't imagine a framework more thourough than it. In addition, some good applications out there have used codebook as the basis for their apps, e.g. Visual Accountmate.

>Arnon--Funny you should mention the 3-tier approach where you have your gui-business object-data. I was just considering this the other day. Although codebook assumes you will combine the gui/business object it doesn't require you to. You can easily seperate your gui from your business object. The changes you would need to make to codebook would be minimal. That's why I like codebook so much, it is so versatile.

Michael,
This is wrong:

Promatrix takes great pains in making sure that people know they are NOT based on the Codebook... They have a good tool for building VFP based apps, but then again so does Mere Mortals and Drew Speedie... It all depends on what you want the tool to do.. VFE (Visual FoxExpress does a lot of the work for you (since it is a Rapid Application Development tool For the money that this will make you in business, VFE is a GREAT investment, plus with the time you save in developing apps (YOU WILL SAVE TIME USING VFE!!) you can press on and learn more about Oop style application development..

Thanx!
