I will starting a project for document handling in the near future. I have looked at the T.Granor article in FPA for ideas. I'm looking for more ideas.

This application will hold contracts that are under constant modification. Paragraphs are changed, added and removed. Section headings and text formating need to be preserved. Clients want to render the contract to appear as it would on any particular day from the past. Therefore modifications must be tracked with applicable dates. The final output should be into Word.

My first ideas are to store the paragraphs as the atomic data. Use XML to capture the formating and other presentation coding. Then to create a hierarchical structure to hold the various paragraphs relative to one another.

Since I have some time to prepare I want to read anything and everything. Suggestions please. Experiences are also welcome. Design ideas are welcome.
