>The main, and best reason for looking at a third party report writer like crystal reports is that, unlike FoxPro own report writer or addons like FoxFire, is that it is a good corporate solution. If you independantly write programs for customers this doesn't matter as much but if you work in a company like I do where the vital data is stored in many places in many formats (FoxPro 2.x, VFP, Lotus Notes, Spreadsheets, etc) a package like Crystal Reports makes a great corporate solution.

However,
If you are working in such an enviroment, you could also just use ODBC and read in the data and do with it what you'd like too... I have nothing against Crystal Report writer (In fact I have headr rumors that it may be the Report writer for the Visual Studio in the future.. Who knows..) I just don't like having to use a product when I can use the features of VFP..

Thanx!
